Our Reflections from Shoptalk Spring: Energy, Honesty, and What Comes Next

ShopTalk Round Up Blog Image

We’re still buzzing after a few incredible days at Shoptalk Spring in Las Vegas.

Daria had the chance to attend alongside Omri Bojko from TVP, and from the moment we landed, it was a whirlwind in the best possible way. The kind of experience that reminds us exactly why we got into this industry in the first place.

The Value of Being in the Room

We found that there’s something irreplaceable about being physically present at an event like Shoptalk. Yes, the sessions are valuable. Yes, the insights are sharp. But what really stood out were the conversations happening in between. We spent the majority of our time deep in discussions; connecting with brands, partners, and operators who are all navigating the same rapidly evolving commerce landscape. These weren’t surface-level exchanges. They were honest, often challenging conversations about what’s working, what isn’t, and what comes next.

We listened. We answered questions. And, importantly, we were pushed in ways that forced us to think differently. Those are always the moments that stick.

A Fast-Moving Industry with Even Faster Expectations

One of our biggest takeaways is just how quickly expectations are shifting.

It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day; campaigns, launches, performance metrics, and deadlines. But stepping into an environment like this puts everything into perspective.

Commerce isn’t just evolving, it’s accelerating.

What felt like a competitive advantage six months ago is quickly becoming table stakes. Brands aren’t just looking for incremental gains anymore; they’re searching for step changes in how they operate, connect with customers, and scale sustainably.

And with that comes opportunity, massive opportunity, for those willing to move decisively and think differently.

Total Commerce is excited by this shift. It signals a move away from incremental thinking and toward more transformative change. Brands aren’t just asking how to optimise anymore, they’re asking how to fundamentally evolve how they operate, connect, and grow.

What Stood Out Most: Openness and Intentionality

One of the most striking takeaways from the event was the level of openness. There’s a noticeable shift happening. People are asking better questions. They’re less interested in quick wins and more focused on building something that lasts. The conversations have matured.

Instead of “What’s the latest tactic?” the questions are becoming:

  • How do we build a more resilient growth model?

  • Where should we actually be investing?

  • What does sustainable commerce look like for us?

Even more refreshing was the honesty. There was very little posturing. Brands were candid about their challenges, transparent about what isn’t working, and genuinely curious about how to improve.

Daria came away feeling that the industry is craving more real dialogue. The majority of time was spent in deep, meaningful discussions with brands, partners, and operators, and what stood out most was how open people were willing to be.

That kind of environment is rare and incredibly valuable.

Why These Moments Matter

Events like Shoptalk serve as a reset.

They pull you out of execution mode and give you space to think more strategically. They remind you that while every business has its own nuances, many of the challenges are shared, and solvable.

More than anything, they reinforce the importance of community in this space. Progress doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through shared ideas, open dialogue, and a willingness to challenge assumptions.

Looking Ahead

Daria left Las Vegas with a notebook full of ideas, a long list of follow-ups, and a renewed sense of momentum. There’s a lot to build on, and even more to figure out. But that’s what makes this space exciting.

Already looking forward to the next one.
